Got in around 10:15. This time we paid a $15 cover, which used to be $7 before 10 and $10 after 10. Apparently there is a new $5 tax on strip club patrons, some type of sin tax I guess. Don't know how long this has been the case but this was the first we'd heard of it. It was not very busy when we got there but by 11 it was packed. There were lots of dancers arriving at that time and coming out for the lap dance hustle. We got a couple private dances with Aquarius. She encouraged me to touch her but told my husband "only girls are allowed to touch." We saw an asian girl giving dances to a group of hispanic men and they were very handsy - she had a different set of rules apparently. There were some pretty hot girls working and some that needed to put a little more effort in, both at the gym and in front of the mirror. There were $3.75 shot specials until 11. Apparently Texas law doesn't allow shot specials after 11. Overall we had a great time, will always return to the YR.

Went in on a friday night. Got in about 10:30p. $15 cover. About 30 girls spread around 3 stages and dancing at tables. Ran the range from 2-8 overall with some really hot and some really not. Dances were relatively low mileage compared to what I am used to. A fair amount of grinding, but given the open nature of the table dances ($20) no real 2 way opportunity. No extras here unless the VIP booths are better. Alcohol stops at 2 a.m. with club open to 3 a.m. on weekends. All in all a pretty mediocre experience, but the girls were at least friendly.

I visited the Yellow Rose on a Monday and Tuesday night, both times arriving around midnight and departing shortly before they closed at 2:30am. Self-parking was free, the cover was $5 on Monday and $13 on Tuesday (figure that out!). I treated myself to a Remy Martin XO on Monday for $30, and to a Woodbridge Bourbon on Tuesday for $8.50. Some have mentioned that the place is getting run down, and I would have to agree with that--the bathroom was particularly disappointing. On the other hand, the place does seem to have the best talent, the best vibe, and the best dances in Austin at present. I certainly would not put it on a par with the top clubs in the country, but it is an enjoyable place to spend a few hours when in Central Texas. What do I mean about the vibe? It just always seems like a party at the Yellow Rose. Maybe it´s the wierd mix of customer types: corporate guys, UT students, big working guys, boys from the hood, couples. Or maybe it´s the wierd mix of girls: hippy chicks, burned-out rocker-girls, sweet country girls, young moms, ambitious students. You name your type, she probably dances at the Rose--also a decent mix of ethnicities, although I did not see any Asian hotties. Are all the girls beautiful? No, they run the gamut from 6´s to 9´s, but the contrasts in style keep things interesting. The girls tend to take their stage-time seriously, and some of them put on a very good show. All three stages were going most of the time. Most of the girls are extremely friendly, and seem genuinely interested in spending some time chatting before and between dances. The lap-dances are OK. Mileage certainly varies, but it´s always moderate--I received dances from 8 different dancers--no air dances, but there was some air in the dances. There was always some contact, and always some two-way contact, but this is definitely not a club for major mileage. Specific dancer recommendations: Penny and Cookie. There is not a lot of privacy in the dance areas. The managers have organized this place in such a way that the best private dance locations have to be rented or VIP´d. Is it worth it? The booths are OK, but they are still not all that private. I slipped a manager $40 to get a booth on the second night, but I´m not certain that it made the dances any better.

My wife was wanting to go somewhere for dinner so I took her to the Rose. I didnt tell her it was a strip club but I think she had an idea. The parking was free which was nice and it was easily accessed off of a main hwy.

We ordered dinner and the food was pretty good. I would compare it to like an applebee's. The food came out rather quick or it just seemed quick since we both had something to watch while we were waiting. The girls were quite pretty and they werent pushy at all. They had 2 for 1 dances at certain times so we had a girl give her a lap dance and me a lap dance for the price of 1 dance. We didn't stay too long but it wasnt because we didnt enjoy the place. I would recommend going to this place if you are in town. It isnt the best I have been too but it was a nice place to get a bite, see some beautiful girls and enjoy the view.
