Nice place and atmosphere, very safe and clean, a few minutes in a cab from Sandton Square. I have been there several times and always thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Entrance costs actually vary by periods during the afternoon, and include a drink (including good stuff). Going early is chesaper, and the best is calling them to check on this and possible current promotions.
Girls are friendly, sometimes pushy (but not all of them), and will keep company at your table, with limited touching allowed. You can then buy either a table dance or, more expensively a private dance in the back (table dance is almost as good, as, theoretically, no sexual touching is allowed by law). Lots of different countries of origin, averaging at least 7 with some stunners. There is a center stage with semi-nude to nude dancing at all times.
The Grand, in Rivonia, Johannesburg, is probably the biggest and most upmarket strip club in SA.
The ladies are of an extremely high standard. They are especially friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Other than their superior dancing skills and delicious bodies, they are also capable of socialising with the clientele on a intimate level. I enjoyed the company of one lady in particular, Jane, who is initially from Moscow, Russia.
The club also has a delicious buffet with a wide variety of typical South African food, as well as an array of sushi and tepinyake delicacies.
An authentic asian massage can also be enjoyed whilst relaxing and viewing the lovely ladies.
The Grand remains arguably the best gentlemen's club on the African continent. They recently released a calling card on a CD; ask for it. The buffet - included in the R250 cover charge - is sensational. Drinks are not inexpensive, but are reasonably priced, and the drinks and wine selections (the latter has been newly updated and expanded) are top notch. But the dancers and the dancing remain this club's premium feature. Whether at your table downstairs, in a most comfortable arm chair, or on the sofa in a private room upstairs - these were ALSO just rennovated, and the new rooms are superb - one definitely receives one's money's worth from these fantastic ladies.
If you've been to Kruger, Cape Town, Derbs, and seen all the rest, but still haven't been to the Grand, you are missing out on the very best South Africa has to offer.

The babes are friendly, fun and (obviously) hot. I've been a couple times and will continue doing so. Last week I went to watch sport, often go for a business lunch with clients and just to chill, have dinner and fun. I have taken overseas visitors there, who were greatly impressed. They said The Grand is one of the lasting memories they have of South Africa and will definately pay another visit.
The Grand opened in the summer of 2006. It is destined to become a leading alternative to Teazers (reviewed elsewhere), and is only 2 blocks north of Teazers. The Grand faces Rivonia Road and you can see it from there, but you need to turn east on 10th or 12th Avenues to access it from the smaller, parallel Rivonia Blvd.
The Grand is elegant, upscale, sprawling and large, and is a destination not to be missed in South Africa. The modest cover charge includes a visit to one of the best buffets ever experienced. After that you return to the main dance hall, which has a unique sunken full liquor bar below the round main stage. The dancers, an international group from all over the world, are even more stunning than the architecture. Lap dances at your table are about R200, are nude, with plenty of contact. If that's not enough, there are private booths for an even better experience at R350. You can book you favorite dancer for a full hour for R1200. The staff are extremely hospitable. This club is truly world class. I give it the highest rating of 10 without any worries at all.
Teazers Rivonia, Midrand and Cresta are the branches I have been to. Rivonia they say is the flagship but I was not really impressed. The average girl was not up to standards. They advertise 'no studs and tatoos'. Every 2nd girl had a tatoo. Midrand and Cresta were also nothing to rave about. The girls were a bit better than in Rivonia but still not up to strip club standards. As a strip club outing I didnt find Teazers that fun. There are better alternatives around town. Sleazy joint.
Business recently took me to South Africa. I didn't have high expectations for entertainment opportunities, but was most pleasantly surprised by Teazers. It is a nationwide franchise, perhaps some half a dozen clubs in most large cities, run by a well-known local and colorful personality named Lolly Jackson. The club at 344 Rivonia in the Rivonia, Sandton district, is the flagship house in an upscale, good part of town. Rivonia is a major north-south artery, but you need to get onto a parallel side street by the same name, to find the club. I drove around for quite a while before realizing this. The side street, with plenty of high-end shopping, is to the east of the main boulevard.
In late 2006 Teazers was remodeling extensively inside and out to keep up with the new competition (see other review). Door fee is R100, and a waitress is assigned to you and ushers you in. The club is large, with one central stage and some satellite stages, but most of the action centers around the tables. Table dances are R150, and private booth dances are R200 -- more if you want to add in quite liberal contact. Table dances are just that -- the dancers get right up on the table. Many are in booths with a big, well secured table, which is more a mini stage hosting a small private group.
The club offers a full bar with very reasonable pricing. The wine list is excellent. The food is good also. During my visit, the restaurant facilities were actually reviewed by a major national newspaper, with quite high marks for a gentlemen's club kitchen. The dancers run the full gamut from acceptable to downright stunning. If you buy two or more dances, the second and more are nude. Rules on touching and physical contact are much more liberal and relaxed here than in the USA. There are many more white girls than was expected, with several eastern European imports. The dancer list changes frequently, so there's no sense in calling out my favorites. But there were several.
When I found Teazers in Jo'burg, I thought I'd found the best in Africa, until I found the next club reviewed. Any American who frequents local clubs and then must visit South Africa will not be disappointed. Like me, you will no doubt be pleasantly surprised.
