After years of steady decline, I'm sure I'm not the only one been expecting the Diamond to simply fade away. Evidently the absentee owners decided against that. So there is a new manager, new bartenders, and several new dancers. One recent Thursday evening there were 9 of them -- all different shapes, sizes, and ethnicities. Some were young and thin, others were a bit more seasoned. This is a hopeful sign. It would be nice if this place could get back to the fun, neighborhood bar it was many years ago.
I arrived at this club at 9:25PM, Saturday evening, September 2, 2006. The club was closed for some unknown reason. The 'Blue Diamond' sign was still up, but not lit. Unaware of how long it has been closed or wether it is going to reopen. I did obtain the numbered address which was 1980 Oakland Park Ave.
Stopped in one afternoon when I was in town. Word was that the fun had disappeared. Well, it looks to be back. 3 nice looking dancers were working. They get very friendly!!! Still a dive but looks like it is getting fun again.
For a long time this bar was a lot of fun. It has seemed to go down hill. I was there last Tuesday and it was dead. The women were 5's at best, they didn't seem all that interested in dancing or talking to customers. It has a very small stage and no private area. hey do have an outside patio but is wasn't in use. Unless I was there on a bad night, I wouldn't recommend spending your $$$ here.
