The club is much cleaner than it was before the new owners took over. They have a pool table that is smaller than regulation but larger than a standard bar table. Mostly the girls are friendly but they are not the most attractive in the world. The bar was to have private dances by May of this year but it is not going to happen anytime soon if at all. Moreover, there is not lap dancing at the bar as in other Irvington clubs. This is a nice place to play some pool and have a beer. Nothing else after that.

Here's an improvement for Irvington. . . Ember's has new ownership. All Brazilian dancers. Cleaned up a bit. Other changes to come. Judy, formerly barmaid at Twins then at After Dark is now in charge here. Closing time is now 2 A.M. instead of the old 9 P.M.

Opens at 1PM. Stopped off shortly after that today (Saturday). Three girls working plus two for behind the counter. Only a handful of customers. Normal put-the-dollar-down-the-shirt-and-cop-a-feel type joints. Mostly hispanic dancers, mostly average in looks & chunky but friendly. A HJ at the bar is certainly possible if you don't mind her unzipping you while you're seated on a bar stool and jerking to the sound of the music. Awkward but effective. Cleanup is also problematic. Then again, you're getting ready to leave, so.....?

Easy access from EWR - exit 55 off I-78 5 or 6 blocks. 7-8 minutes from Newark's airport once you know where you're going.

Certainly more bang for the biuck than the Newark & Paterson joints. Fulfilling but not satisfying (or maybe the other way around). Would I go back? Certainly - remember there are very limited options in this part of the country.

And, for the more adventuresom, last time I was in the area in the evening, there were a lot of SWs around the corner.
