I went to Clancy's about a week ago on a late Saturday afternoon - first visit in a year or more? First observation, NO smoking - a pleasant relief, being a small club the smoke used to be oppresive. Still no cover any time.

Still the same laid back, no pressure bikini bar. If you place yourself right, you can even avoid the inevitable dollar parade (such as it is at Clancy's - certainly NOT what it is like in other bars in No. NJ) The dancers were ok, maybe 6-7 range, but nothing to call home about and surely not worth a shot at a private dance.

Wish this club would loosen up a bit, but being in a residential neighborhood and doing well as it is, no need to push the limits of the rules.

Worth a visit if in the area, but not worth going out of one's way.

Clancy's in Bloomfield. My stay there was strictly G-rated. The girls were attractive enough, but none showed any interest in chatting me up. They seemed totally disconnected. Maybe I had the wrong accent. The only place they indicated for me to put tips was in the middle of carefully protected bra. No physical contact nor suggestion that any was possible. Do they do private dances there? I'm not sure. The frosty-but-polite attitude they displayed killed any interest on my part in even checking. I did see one girl take a guy out of the dancing area into a back room, and then through a door. No idea where that door might have led. Perhaps great things went on behind that door. Who's to say??? I won't be back to Clancy's, that is for sure. Plenty of other places to check out in this neck of the woods.

Clancy’s is a great little place. The bar is a bit small but this gives it a kind of local pub feel to it. For the regulars its like Cheer’s with go-go dancers. 90% of the dancers are Brazilian with a couple of eastern Europeans working there. Draft beers are $3 and there is a pool table in the back across fro the lap dance room. Not all of the dancers are up to Looker’s standards but the vast majorities are very attractive, with no pigs. The lap dance from has three love seats in it and has smoked glass on the door so you can’t see into it. I got a lap dance from a girl who said she was Hungarian that was excellent. This place is well worth going to. I rate it a 7 because of the lap dances and the atmosphere.

While this is essentially a neighborhood bar with dancing girls, they are beautiful and friendly girls. The barmaids are equally great.
I can understand how someone walking in for the first time might dislike the athmosphere, those of us who have been several times will really love the place. If you are social enough to carry on a normal conversation and appreciate the "Cheers" like enviornment you will rapidly grow to enjoy yourself here.
The dancers are mostly So. American, with some Americans and a few Russians in the mix.
