Show List
I have not been back to the Bear's Den for quite a while so I made the trip on Saturday night. Not a lot has changed.
Cover charge is still $10 to get in. Beer was $5.25. One change was actually made by the State of Minnesota. The Bear's Den is now smoke-free, as are all bars in Minnesota. It was nice not having to deal with a cloud of smoke in the bar.
Couch dances are now $30. The songs used to seem very short. Now they seem like they are normal length, closer to 3 minutes. A few even went longer than that. They also ran a special Fantasy Dance twice while I was there. They tried to get as many girls as possible in the couch dance room by offering an extended song for the price of a regular song. They said it was supposed to be twice as long as regular. The first time it seemed almost like a regular song, the second time it was a longer song.
They also offer a VIP room now. I did not try it out, but I talked to 2 of the dancers about the VIP. They said that it was $225 for 30 minutes of couch dancing in a different room. They said the rules were the same, it was just a little bit better deal than the $30 per song. So if you find a dancer you like it might be worth the time.
They had 6 dancers on duty on a Saturday night. They ranged from a 5-6 up to a 9 in looks. All get nude on stage (or at least show everything). The couch dances are topless in a separate room. No touching of the dancers by the customers, dancers can touch a lot. As usual, dances varied a lot. I had couch dances from4 out of the 6 and they ranged from about a 5 to an 8 for a no extras type place.
It is still pretty expensive for a club in the middle of nowhere, but it isn't a bad place to sit and watch the scenery for a while. And there isn't a lot of competition in the area. So I will probably return for another visit in the future.
I have been here a handful of times and have always had a good time. Very sexy women for the size and location of the town. Drink service is slow and with the inflated prices you would think they would want to sell you as many drinks as they could. Overall a great place.
Made a short stop here late on Thursday night. There were less than a dozen customers in the bar when I arrived. Cover charge was still $10 at about 20 minutes to midnight. Beer was still $5.25.
Not sure how many dancers were working. I counted 6 but I don't know if there were any more. The dancers still normally get nude rather quickly. One seemed a little shy. She would flash looks at the bottom but didn't take her bottom off until the end of the last song. The dancers did 3 songs on stage, I think that is different from the past, I thought they used to do 2 songs. The songs also seemed to be a little longer, closer to normal length.
Dancers ranged from about 5 to 8 or 9. I got 2 lap dances from a dancer that I hadn't seen before, one probably closer to the 5 than the 9. She told me that she is new to dancing and works a full time job besides dancing. The dances are still $25. They are much better lap dances than any other club I have been to in the area. The biggest problem with this club, as it has been since it opened, is that is too expensive for this area.
Stopped in on Thanksgiving weekend. Stayed several hours on Saturday evening. Only about a dozen customers in the place at one time all evening. They have cut back on the number of dancers working. They now have 6-8 dancers an evening instead of the the dozen or more they had when they first opened.
Had several dances from one of the newer dancers. She works for the sister club in Minneapolis and I believe this was her second trip north. She was supposed to be back for a couple of weeks in December and hoped to be asked back again after that. The dances were better than normal for the club with good one way contact and some limited two way. This seems to be more than normal for the club, it is usually one way contact only. It is still an expensive club but it can be fun with the right dancer.
I had a great time at this place on 11/12....didn't look like much, and there were some weird drunks present on that rainy night, but that was okay, because the dancers were hot, and in some cases, genuinely nasty. There was this one black chick from Minneapolis, going by the name of cat, or maybe Kat, I didn't ask her to spell it...just awesome, long, lean, small titties, fabulos round butt....got a couple dances from her after seeing how touchy-feely she is even when on stage, and believe me, this was a gooooood investment....and I hope she's coming back up north real soon. Back to the club itself: staff was real friendly, atmosphere pretty relaxed, music not painfully loud....I think they could use better stage lighting, but what the hell, that didn't detract from the fun.
Slow night at the Bears Den on Friday night. Showed up about 5:00. One guy was getting into his vehicle when I pulled up. There was 1 other vehicle in the lot but I didn't see any other customers in the building. Cover is $10. It was Happy Hour and beer was $4.75, not a big discount. A few guys showed up over the next couple of hours. There were probably 6-8 other customers when I left about 7.
There were 3 dancers working when I arrived and a 4th joined the rotation about an hour in. The dancers ranged from 5-7. The 1 that showed up last was working the last time I was there, none of the other 3 were. Stage dancing ranged from what looked like a beginner to a couple of pretty decent dancers. Tops usually came off during the first song, lower flashing during the second song and bottoms come off for the 3rd song. All songs are cut to about 2 minutes. I was the only person sitting at the stage for most of the first hour I was there. 2 of the dancers didn't bother to give me any extra attention even though I was the only person tipping most of the time. But the DJ came by and put a couple of tips out for me while I was up there.
Got several lap dances from one of the better dancers, the 1 that had given me some extra attention at the stage. Decent one way grind. Laps are still $25. I would call it a pleasant experience but certainly nothing special. One other dancer stopped by with a quick Wanna Dance? and I passed on the experience. I might have tried the last dancer to show up but she just walked right on by just like she did on my last visit.
I still can't rank this among my favorite clubs in the region, but it is the closest, and a nude club with alcohol, so I will probably be back
You can have a lot of fun at this place, it's relaxed and easy going whenever I've been there. Not a whole bunch of pressure to spend, spend, spend. Bartenders and waitresses are friendly, and in general, so are the dancers. Only place I've been in a long time where I've been challenged to a game of pool by a dancer, and got a pretty good grinding lap dance for winning...of course if I'd lost I'd have bought that dance, but in any case I'd be a winner. You'll see a lot of the same faces here if you drop in a few times, but they also seem to get dancers in from the twin cities and elsewhere, and some are awesome. I'm not much good at remembering names, next trip I'll work on that. also, the laps vary from dancer to dancer...some mostly air, some very high contact. I'd say if you stop in once and don't see what you like, stop in again and you almost certainly will. All in all, tthe bear's den is a rockin good time.
Stopped in for the first time in more than 10 months. Little has changed in that span of time. Cover is still $10. The first beer was only $4.75 while the next one was back up to $5.25 so I am guessing that I was there for Happy Hour.
Nine dancers working on the Friday before Labor Day. They actually had 2 other girls dancing but 1 got sick and wanted to head back to the Cities and the other was riding with her so they both left early in the day. About 6-8 customers in the place when I arrived about 5. Around a dozen there most of the evening as people wandered in and out. A party arrived about 9 that pushed the number over 20. I left soon after that so I don't know if it got any busier.
Lap dances are still $25, but I got the impression that there is a little flexibility to get a better price for multiple dances from some of the dancers. I got dances from 2 dancers. Both did a nice job. Absolutely no touching by the customer.
My biggest complaint is the same as it was last fall. The girls need to work a little bit more at getting couch dances. They do a good job on the stage, but most don't do much prospecting for dances. I had 1 girl stop with a "Wanna dance" as soon as I sat down (she came back later with the same line), but only had a couple even say hello as they walked by. Only 4 girls talked to me the whole evening other than to say thank you for a tip. 2 of those got couch dances. One of those came and sat with me for a while while the other gave me a quick back rub while I was at the bar. These 2 helped keep the rating at a 7 rather than going lower.
The club seems to get quite a lot of business for being located in the middle of nowhere. The girls are very friendly, and most of them are very hot. They have a stage located right in the middle for the regular dancing with seating on both sides. There are also tables located on both sides of the stage. One end of the club has the bar, which is usually empty. At the other end of the club, there is the DJ and a large room lined with couches for the lap dances. Compared to some of the other clubs that I have been to, I preferred getting the lap dances in somewhat in private. The cover charge is $10.00 per person and the lap dances are $25.00, but if you want to get a lap dance from two girls at the same time, its $50.00. Also, if you're a couple and want to watch your spouse get a lap dance, its $50.00. They have a few waitresses that come around to get you drinks, but I suggest going up to the bar to get a drink, if you don't want a really weak drink, since they are so expensive. Also, they do offer free soft drinks or water, if you are the designated driver. All together we have a great time there and tend to go back at least once a month.
Went to club on a saturday night. Club is a little dark and the music is too loud. On the bright side a very nice mix of dancers 6 to 9. I had dances from three girls all were very good with one way contact.you must check out adrianna and starla they will get the job done.
I need to add a few things to the last review. I went on a Thursday evening. I showed up a little after 5 and stayed for about 3 hours. There were more dancers than customers when I showed up and the numbers were close when I left. I talked to one of the dancers and found out that Thursdays are usually quiet. She said that it gets busier later in the weekend, Saturdays are usually pretty busy. She said that she works there most weekends while some of the girls are just visiting.
One other problem I see with the club is that the girls need to learn to socialize a little more with the customers, especially when it is slow. Most of the girls hit you with the "Wanna dance" question after little more than an introduction. I saw a few spending time with customers but would guess that they were with regulars. One of the dancers did come and talk to me a little bit and even sat down for a couple of minutes. She got a couple of dances even though she wasn't what I was looking for. One other dancer came and sat down for a while after I had gotten dances from her. We had a nice conversation and she is the one that told me that it was usually slow on Thursdays. My recommendation to the girls is that they spend a little time with the customers and they will usually get more business, especially when the alternative is to sit around with one or more of the other dancers.
Needed to get out of town for a few hours so I made another stop at the Bears Den. It has been about 3 1/2 months since my last visit. Not much has changed.
The club is open from 3 PM until 1 AM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The cover charge is $10. The club is full nudity and a full bar, a rarity in this area. There were 9 dancers working, probably range from 5 or 6-9. Each has 3 songs on stage and some get nude faster than others.
I tried couch dances from 4 of the dancers. All had good points. There is good contact one way. The songs are all cut short. I didn't time them but they seemed to be about 2 1/2 minutes. They were cutting classic rock songs that are usually about 3 minutes long.
The bad parts of the club are the same as they were when they opened. It is more expensive than most of the clubs in the area. The music is a little louder than it needs to be, but the DJ working today was decent. I don't like the shortened songs. They did have a couple of extended play songs while I was there and made a big deal of it. They just played the full songs instead of cutting them. The club doesn't seem to handle smoke well, it just hung in the air. And they could have had more light on, it was really dark for some of the dancers.
I will go back to the club again. A couple of the dancers were good and seemed to have fun. It is also the closest club to home so it is the easiest club to stop at. But there are better clubs in the region.
I was at this club last night. Good selection of ladies and all were attractive. The dances I had in the VIP were good, but I did not care for the VIP area. I would prefer dividing it up into private cubicles for a more intimate experence. I also did not care for the bouncer walking into the VIP every couple of minutes. I also feel that for $25 VIP dance a guy should be allowed some freedom in where his hand can wonder (at least let him touch second base).
PLease geta new DJ, this guy does not know when to shut up!
Over all not a bad club to apss some time in. But I prefer clubs that push the edge of whats legal, Or a little beyond :)
strippers steal your money, thru deception, they tell you $25.00 for a couch dance when it is really gonna cost you $50.00. i know of at least 4 guys this happened to tonight alone!
drinks are $7.75 for a gin on rocks, cover charge is $10.00, and its a long drive from any city to get there, all this and I get my money stolen from me, I will never return for anything but revenge, Fuck this shit hole!
Made a second stop at the new club in the area. Prices are still a little high for this area. Prices are listed in the review before. I bought a mixed drink for a dancer and that was $7.75. And songs are still cut short.
Hours have changed. They are open from 3 PM to 1 AM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the rest of the summer. Had at least 9 dancers working on a Thursday. That was more than the number of customers when I arrived about 6:30. Nice variety of girls working, but mainly white.
Tried dances from 3 girls. The first 2 were okay, not great. The last was very good. She is a little more mature, but is cute and has a good time. She has several piercings. She also told me that they can get fined $100 for allowing customers to touch them so all contact is definitely 1 way. Overall, this is a good club, but not a great club right now.
This is a brand new club that opened June 2nd. It is owned by the same people as the 418 Club in Minneapolis. I was there on the first Saturday night.
The club is a good size. You walk into an entry area. Cover charge was $10. The bar is to the right along with a couple of pool tables and video games. The dance area is to the left of the entry. There is a long narrow stage in the middle of the room. It looked about 4 feet wide. There are poles near the 2 ends. Seating is on 3 sides with stairs leading to the stage on the end near the entry. I would guess they have seating for close to 50 people around the stage. They also have tables on 3 sides of the stage with seating for well over 100.
Dancers usually dance for 3 songs on stage, although they will stay for an extra song or 2 if they are getting a lot of tips. The regular practice was dressed for 1st song, topless for 2nd song and nude for 3rd song. But some of the dancers worked a little faster, 1 was nude before the middle of the first song.
Couch dances are done in a separate room with a large open double door that faces the DJ booth. Dances are done topless (with some flashing) and the price I was quoted was $25. The dancers give plenty of contact but the customer is not allowed to touch the dancer.
Here are a few impressions on my first visit. First the negatives, the music and DJ are too loud, the songs are cut short, the DJ talks too much and everything is too expensive for this area. A cover charge of $10, beer priced at $5.25 and $25 couch dances are all high. One of the dancers mentioned that they are going to review the drink prices. I don't know about the others.
The positives. They had a good selection of dancers. Most seemed to work at the 418. One worked at Sugar Daddy's in St. Cloud, MN. They had 8-10 dancers that night. No 10's but most were in the 6-8 range. The lap dances are good quality for this area. I tried 4 different dancers. The 2 best were similar in quality to the old days at Jakes. The club was roomy and comfortable. Well over 100 people were in the club and it wasn't crowded.
After 1 visit I would say that this club has great promise. I like it better than the Northern in Fargo. I will have to make some follow-up visits to see how the club stands up over time.
