I really can't figure this place out and so it is hard to assign a rating to it. I don't particularly like the vibe of Allstars at all. It is hard to narrow down exactly why but something is not quite right with the place. It isn't really the staff. They seem nice enough and one of the waitresses is actually very friendly, one might almost say sweet. The dancers are a mixed bag but there are some very attractive and fun girls working here. Many of them have worked at other clubs in the Lawrence area and I would count a couple of them as personal favorites. The place has a reputation of being dangerous since a guy got shot outside here last year. I'm not sure I'd want to hang out here in the wee hours but I usually never go to a club that late at night and, otherwise, it feels about as safe as any other bar. Maybe it just feels sort of shady and maybe it is that it never seems like there are many customers or much excitement here. I will continue to drop by from time to time because of the girls but I'd truthfully prefer that they were dancing somewhere else.

OK, so I stumbled (not quite literally, but close) into Allstar's the other night. Usually my curiosity gets the best of me every year or so and I feel the need to check this place out and this was that night. As someone who frequents a couple of other Lawrence clubs, I always kind of wonder if I might run in to some old favorites who have disappeared from those clubs here. In this case, I did and that is most of the reason for my improved rating for this place. Arrived around 7 PM and was not charged a cover though I know they charged $5 later in the evening so not sure what the cutoff point is. Staff seemed friendly enough and they actually had a drink special. My Budweiser in a can was $1.75 so only $3 with a decent tip. Suspect that this is just a Tuesday night thing so I guess I lucked out. Wasn't hassled for drinks too much so that is worth a bonus point. When i arrived, no dancers were dancing though that changed about 30 minutes later when a half dozen or so girls appeared out of the back. By the time I left a few hours later, there were probably twice that so not bad for a weekday night. Dancers were not spectacular looking but fairly nice and a couple were pretty hot. Not too many customers though the place didn't feel that empty since it is pretty small. As I mentioned, I ran into an old favorite dancer here and spent most of the evening hanging out with her. Got a couple of dances in the back room and they were pretty good. Was never charged anything to go to the back area as one of the other reviewers mentioned so I'm not sure if that has changed or I just got lucky again. Overall I had a really good time (maybe too good) and will likely visit again sooner rather than later this time though only if my dancer friend continues to be there.


I went here after being turned away at Paradise Saloon because, as someone only visiting Lawrence, I did not have ten days to get the background check Paradise Saloon requires for their membership. I was unimpressed.

There were two unattractive dancers sitting and talking to one patron, three patrons playing video games at the bar, and apparently nobody else in the place. I sat for five minutes thinking that perhaps there was another dancer in the house, or a waitress, but I got tired of waiting, and I realized I was afraid of whatever dancer might be hiding backstage so I left.

On the plus side, I arrived at about 6PM and I wasn't charged a cover, so I give the place a 2.

Girls here are worried about other clubs doing better because when I asked them about other clubs in the area they were extremly negative and didn't talk about anything but how bad the other girls were ugly. Lap dances on the floor are no contact but dances in VIP are contact, 10 and 20 dollars. Dancers shouldn't speak so harshly about other clubs or dancers, it's very unattractive and distasteful.
