Well, I happened to be in the vicinity again, and being bored, thought I would see if this place was still here. I stopped in this time a bit early, about 8:30 on a Friday. About 5 or 6 dancers were there, all playing pool and chatting, things didn't get started until 9:00 pm.
Not much has changed. They still didn't have bottled water. My diet coke was generic soda poured from a 2 liter. Even the older dancer I thought was the house mom from last time was still there. I'd bet a dollar she owns the place. I was still the only person in the joint wearing khakis, and probably stood out like a turd in a punchbowl.
One tall, leggy blonde who was probably the best looker in the house did the first set, and went to pick off a few of the older gents from the tables for private dances. Probably all rich old retired farmers. I finally figured out where these were taking place: a single two-seater sofa in the rear corner of the coctail area, near the entrance to the bathrooms.
The other dancers, all 20-somethings, maybe 6's to 8's on your scale, seemed to be hanging out with a raincoater in the back or at the pool tables. All were skinnier than I prefer, you'd think I could find a chubby dancer somewhere in Iowa, but of course I have to go to Detroit or Indianapolis for that kind of thing. Now the bartender was a plump little cutie, but I didn't ask her if she danced. Heh.
I was never hustled for a dance, but then again it was early. I left, since I was still as bored sitting here as I was when I came in. Not bad, mind you, but nothing to get me excited over either. Oh well; nothing ventured, nothing gained.
