One thing I hadn't seen mentioned is that they have a tall 'island' in the midddle of the Velvet Room, their 'normal' LD room. You cannot see across the room when seated, adding to things IMHO. was here quite early on a Friday evening. Still the afternoon atmosphere. Had a very and apparently mutually satisfying dance with a relatively new dancer whom I would not describe in order to not to get her into problems. I had a vibe in my pocket and shee really enjoyed that. When they reposition it to increase effectiveness you can be pretty sure you're getting a sincere reaction. I've never read of anyone else doing this, or whether the clubs have a problem with it or not.

I always like the Minx in the afternoons. Dancers aren't pushy for private dances, and they always have dancers on stage. You can sit back and relax. Good clean place, and there is no DJ in the afternoon to annoy you. As others have mentioned, this is BYOB. Private dances are good, extras are only occaisionally available though. Most dancers that I have been in the back with try to make sure I leave satisfied.

On my visit a recent afternoon there were about five dancers rotating on stage, and about the same number of paying customers watching. All the girls were attractive - seven to nine on my scale. Private dances cost $25 each and there is an extra charge if you want to go up to the Skybox. The overall club ambiance, layout, policies, etc. are the same as for the past couple of years. I scored with a girl who did NOT dance while I was there (for me it was a score - she let me play with her pussy in the Private Area.) I am not going to name or describe the dancer because that particular activity is prohibited in this (as in most) clubs. I had been there about a half hour and was getting ready to leave when she sat down beside me. She was cute, sweet, and friendly. It wasn't long before she asked the famous question, "would you like a private dance". I answered with a new line I just thought up recently, "how much will it cost for me to play with your pussy?" She said, "Well, I would still have to charge you $25 per song." That really took me aback -- I wondered if she thought I was dickering for a discount. I had expected her to say something like $40 or $50 per song. So for $25/song, off we went. It was an extremely satisfying dance in every respect. Happy ending. My great fear is that this girl will be fired. In fact I suspect if she is NOT fired, one of the other girls will either tell her to stop doing that altogether, or to start charging a lot more. So I figure this was just my lucky break and probably not representative of the club.

I did not have as good a time as usual at Minx this last weekend. There were a number of female patrons but it didn't seem like as many got into the act so to speak. That is always a good time when they join the fun.

There was a new blond dancer that I had not seen before and she got my attention on stage but her private dance was not anything to get all excited over :(

I have not been to Minx for a couple of months but I usually have a good time there. I'll give it another try and hopefully things will be looking up again.

Been a long time since I had the opportunity to stop in. I always enjoy the female audience partisipation. Usually one or two girls get brought into the show most times I am there. Last Saturday was kind of slow but saw Breanna. Had one private dance that was pretty good. Second brought me to the brink. This girl is over the top. She kept pulling and tugging on me I had to pull her off so my night did not end after two songs. God I miss this place.

I was there before 5 pm on a Saturday and there were only two girls there. They were not dancing. I had to wait a few minutes for any attention because both girls were occupied with other men in the Velvet Room.

There was high contact through the clothes in the Velvet Room, but no pussy was seen
or touched through five dances. Watch the count, they wanted to charge me for one

It must be the season but I was not too impressed on my last visit to Minx. There were no women in the crowd which always makes for a good time but the dancers just didn't seem to be into it either that night.

I hope that it was just an off night and that the next time I stop in I will be able to raise my rating back up to the usual. It has always been a great time in the past but certainly not this time around.

Went last night and there were about 6-8 girls when I arrived and soom there was a shift change. One early shift girl, JC wouldn't do a regular dance at $25 just the VIP at $25 + 50 for VIP cover. She was the best looking one w/ a great body but her costume prevented determining if she had fake tits which I hate. Had one dance from Allie who only comes down from MSP for "fun & money a couple of times a month. Big naturals and lots of contact in the regular room. If in Des Moines I'll come back. Maybe it was the 12 degree weather outside (they said I'd just missed a big ice storm a few days before) but even though the building is like a steel barn and there's no bar and the LDs are tame, I found that I had a REALLY GOOD TIME in this club. In fact, everybody there seemed to be having a great time, customers and dancers alike -- the night I was there (in Feb. 2007) it was definitely a "party atmosphere." One of life's little mysteries I guess.

Nice club. I really liked the stage with the big salt water fish tank in the back. It made a really nice backdrop for some very hot dancers.

I spent a couple of hours here. They did have the signs about tipping but I didn't see anyone from management hassling any patrons.

This club has an older clientele than other clubs (according to one of the dancers). They had a nice diversity of dancers of different ethnicities, body types (none on the fat side).

The dancers did nice, long sets of full songs. Private dances were $25. They have a $50 VIP room, plus $25 per dance, with private booths which I didn't try. The dancers said the dances weren't any different than in the Velvet Room and that they didn't get any portion of the $50.

The Velvet Room dances were high grindage with touching allowed except in the areas covered by the g-string. I had dances from two girls both of which were very nice.

I enjoyed this club.

Went to Minx last night. They actually open at 11am. We got there around 5pm, thinking they opened at 4pm. There were only 2 girls on the floor and about 5 girls were leaving. So we watched the 2 left rotate back and forth about every 3 songs. They were friendly and willing to sit and talk since the crowd was very small at that time. The DJ said the other girls were on their way but we decided to check out some other clubs and come back later, glad we did. We finished the night there, since you get a bracelet you can come and go as you went. If you stop in say hello to Lacie, she's young and recently got a boob job, nice work. She very proud and will tell you all about them. Jenna was the other girl from the 5pm showing, tip her well. When we went back, again this was Tuesday night in Des Moines, around 12:30am, there were 3 other girls there and they were bored so they hung on us the rest of the night. 2 young blondes, Serinity from Texas and Sarah (Paris Hilton lookalike) local girl. They did a dual stage dance complete with mock lesbian act. Good girls for beginners. The club expects you to tip regularly and has signs posted everywhere. Good atmostphere for a weeknight. Not as rowdy as some of the local clubs. $10 cover, bouncer will frisk you and lead you to the window to pay your cover and he will put the wrist band on you as well as search your cooler (BYOB bar. No cell phones or cameras allowed inside. They have a VIP box for more privacy during LDs but for an additional $50, I recommend using the velet room unless you are really shy $25 LDs. This was my first time in this club and I was impressed by the staff and ladies. FYI all the girls that night were white and a mix of 5s to 8s. Add it to your list if you are in town and like the full nude experience.

Great club, I visited on a Thursday night. Bouncers frisk you at the door and no cell phones are allowed. The bouncer walks you to a window where you pay a $10 cover and receive an arm band which he places on your wrist. This is a BYOB club but they have soft drink machines inside. The club is dark with a large stage. Behind the stage is a huge salt water aquarium. There are plenty of energetic, attractive dancers going up one at a time. Some were dancing 3 songs; it seemed like a few danced 5. Dancers were in the 7 to 9.5 range and very friendly. As others have mentioned, they do have a sign that says tipping is mandatory. No big deal, they're dancing for us and they should be tipped.

Dancers approach you and strike up pleasant conversation. All were very friendly. Eventually they do ask about a LD but no pressure. I found it hard to turn them down. LD's are in a semi-private room called the Velvet room. It has 5 or 6 Black leather loveseats. My only complaint about this club is that the loveseats sit very low and it's difficult to get up out of them. The 1st dancer told me "don't be shy, you can touch me anywhere". And she was right, nothing was off limits. She did some touching too but what really amazed me were her feet. It was like she had opposable big toes and used them like hands, stroking fondling, and rubbing. It was amazing! I had 5 LD's from three different girls ($25 each dance) and enjoyed every moment.

This is definitely a club to visit.


I've had a lot of fun at the Minx. The interior is sort of minimalist, but they have some hot looking gals here. Much like other Iowa BYOB's there is no bar (not even a juice one) just a vending machine, so its best to pick up some beverages before you come in. I don't think bottles or hard liquor is allowed, just canned beer or sodas. You will be frisked at the door and your cooler will be searched. Other than that, the $10 cover is good for the night as long as you have your wristband, so if you run out of brewskies or what have you, you can restock your cooler and come back.

You get a pretty good show at the stage when you tip here, some could almost argue too good (and a sign behind the stage explicitly says that you're supposed to tip). LD's in the Velvet room are $25. Well worth the price as other reviews have suggested. :-)

Not too far from I-80/35, so worth a stop if you're in DSM or just passing through.

Nice club stooped in in on a Thursday around 5:30. A good assortment of women the cover was $10.00 and you bring your own drink. The only negative was you get frisked coming in. The girls spend a lot of time sitting and talk to you before they ask if you want a dance. In some ways I do not like this because if you are stuck with some one you do not want to be with there spend to much time with you and you miss out on the dancer you want.

I had not been to this club in quite some time so I decided to give it a whirl again. It was a very good time. Several of the girls even remembered me. That wa nice. Taren I didn't recognized due to her hair being completely different, but she still looks great. There are a lot of new girls and several of the nice ones that were there are now gone. Of course they try to get you to buy the VIP wrist band so that you can go back in the skyboxes. the velvet room is usually plenty good for me.
Overall a very nice night. I will have to make it back again without such a large interemission this time.

Stooped in around noon today and there were only 2 dancers, Kyah and Brandy. A bit low for a Saturday, even for during the day, imho. Music seemed to be at a comfortable level for a change. Had a set of lovely dances with Kyah... She's really a darling. Was going to have a dance or two with Brandy as well, but she seemed to be hiding in the dressing room most of the time she wasnt on stage and the bouncer had to go after her to get on stage more than once. Hope it was just an off night for her. The not so loud music and the wonderful dances raised the score up a bit.

I agree that this is a great club. I wish there was more business at the attached book store. To me this is a natural since there are a lot of couples that come to the club. I wish more of those couples would stop by the book store and share some fun.

The couples in the crowd still make the show even better. They really work on getting the ladies involved with the show. Sometimes the boobs on the ladies in the crowd are better than the dancers on stage and in many cases that is hard to do.

Well worth a stop if you are in the area.

This is a great club. Small, quiet, and classy. The girls are very attentive, especially during the day. If you're out to party with the guys, go to the Lumberyard. If you're interested in something more personal, check out the Minx.

Stopped in to Minx about a week ago. Once inside, I observe a medium-attractive girl -- Autumn -- definitely not my type. In fact I find her a depressing ROB. Fortunately, I soon spot Misty, who is one of the finest dancers in Des Moines. Charming, intelligent, and sexy. She will be moving to Wyoming in April so if you want to see Misty again don't wait too long. She went to Kansas City & spent $5000 to get a pair of big knockers, but personally I liked the old small naturals better. She says they have made her a lot of money, and it's all about the money, right? What a charmer -- she always acts like the girl next door or in the next seat in a college classroom (no airs, no fake glamour.) We did one $10 table dance with limited one-way contact, and two $25 Velvet Room dances. Two way contact but she pushed my hand away from her G-string twice. No happy ending.
As soon as I came out of Velvet Room I noticed a stunner on stage & immediately fell in love with Lydia pronounced LEED-ya -- a very cute and sensual 24 year-old. Last time I rated this place it got a "3" because of the silly $20 cover charge, which they soon repealed. I'll raise the score to a "5" on my recent visit. Nothing to really complain about at The Minx Show Palace but on the other hand there's nothing to get very excited about either. I've never once seen a "party atmosphere" develop there. Too bad. It's really a lovely gentleman's club, with beautiful friendly women and nice décor. If happy endings are available they have eluded me in recent visits.
