Tried this place yet again...still a crappy place that is over priced. LD's are no touch and are $25. There are a few lookers but their lack of mileage fro a $25 LD is ridiculous. Take teh extra 25 miles and head to Oasis
Visited this past Saturday night around 11pm. The club itself had the typical low/blacklighting. The layout is very nice. Plenty of stage seating for that up close and personal dancing as well as plenty of off stage seating for those who want to conserve their money.
There was a Moderate crowd and about 4 girls dancing on the stage, however even with the moderate crowd I was able to get a beer at the bar ($4 I believe) rather quickly. After having a seat I had a very pleasant waitress check on me every so often for beverages (very nice and not pushy at all).
Plenty of variety in the lineup and they did a showcase which consisted of all the girls in the house coming out into the crowd looking for couchdance specials. 2 dances and a hat for $40. All the girls that came up were very sweet and ready to dance but not pushy if you weren't interested.
All in all a very nice club with a great atmosphere and plenty of variety to suit anyones tastes. Highly recommended to anyone looking to have a nice evening in an upscale club.
My husband and I enjoy this club. The dancers are all very friendly, as well as the staff. Dancers are down to Earth and will sit down and talk. The girls are pretty, but nothing too impressive...some are a little too chubby, and most have a B cup or less. There is a dancer for every type. There are only a few dancers who do pole tricks, unfortunately most just sway on the runway.
Drinks are a little high ($6 for a shot or beer), but cover charge is only $10 (locals: check the Spark, there is often a free admission coupon). Happy Hour prices are good. Food is so-so. Nice, loose atmosphere with upscale decor. The sound system is amazing. The club plays predominantly rock and country music, but there is still a large number of wannabe-thugs on weekends. The stripper tee promo is a little lame; purchase 2 dances for $40 and you will receive a free t-shirt.
Overall, this is a nice, couple-friendly club, with lots of potential. Finally, a reason NOT to drive to Philly.
Count me out of this club....love the convenience and generally can find one or two beauties to LD...recently, that has changed. Teh girls seem more interested in gathering in the back to gouge on food or hang in the dressing room. Very few actively circulate for LD's.
Still have their 2 for $40 promo....but beware....rules have changed that no longer allow any wouching 9at all)....you are now instructed to put hands to the side and stay still....no thanks! Next stop, Philly!
Considering there are only two clubs in Wilmington I guess I should not have expected much. My first (and probably last) visit to The Gold Club was quite uneventful. Despite the fact that there wer only 6-8 people in the club, the dancers ignored me preferring to sit by themselves than even say hello. The girls were generally in the 5 range at best inluding one that can only be desicribed as a -1. Take the extra trip to Philly for either Philly or Oasis.
Stopped by a couple of time in the past 3 weeks. Still better talent than across the street. Went for the 2-fer special they run about every 2 hours (2 LD's for $40 and a shirt). Had LD's from Athena. She is a Whitney Houston look alike (back in the day). Very sexy and can get a little handy. Overall good stops. Constantly surprised they don't get more of a crowd.
BTW, 'Sunshine' is now dancing here4 and brings all her tricks. One thing I noticed is that her regulars have followed her and it is near impossible to get any LD's from her. She now pushes (hard) for the private rooms. At $170 for 15 minutes, that's a tall order...although with her, I'm sure she makes it worthwhile.
The girls are 8's, but are continually coming around for dollars, even if they hadnt danced. Drinks seem reasonably priced. Girls have enormous pasties, it would look better with a top then the duct tape!
I went to the Gold Club a couple of Sundays ago after a horrific start at Hak's which is across the street. Anyway, I had been to this club when it was Fantasia's. Now this club is definitely trying to be more upscale than Fantasia's. All new furniture and a new VIP area which is much more private then the previous club.
But on this night, I cant say i was overly impressed with the ladies. Not one stuck in my mind - I cant remember their names and I always remember names when a girls makes me happy. One lap dance was with a girl with vinyl boots up to her thighs which made the dance very uncomfortable. Plus she had no personality and it seemed she would rather have been anywhere than with me ( Of course who could bame her- right?). Now i did have a second dance which was with a woman who seemed more at ease and was definitley a lot of fun ... but she was not that hot. ANd neither dance had the contact that I enjoy.
The other strange thing is you paid before the dance and if wanted a second you are supposed to go up to the cashier and pay again . That soured the experience a bit too.
Im gonna rate this place a 4 but I think it may have potential ... I will update in the near future ...
I decided to stop in for a bit recently. It looks nice inside, is really large with a large stage in the center of the bar area. But overall I was not particularly impressed. It took way to long for someone to ask for my drink order, even though I was one of only a handfull of customers. The dancers were ok looking, but for the most part lacked personality as they were cruising for tips. Maybe it was too early in the day. Maybe business was so slow the girls had not quite warmed up yet. But I expect at least a minimum of flirtation when the dancer asks if I would like a Lap Dance.
Maybe I have been spoiled by some of the higher-contact clubs in Philly and New Jersey. Maybe I'm just annoyed at Delaware's archaic restrictions regarding adult entertainment. And maybe I just don't like the large so-called Gentlemen's Club atmosphere. But I did not particularly like this place, nor will I return anytime soon. It's only about 5 minutes from where I live but I will continue to drive 30 - 45 minutes when I'm looking for a fun time at a strip club.
