I used to really enjoy this club but I think lately it has gone down hill. They don't have nearly enough dancers and most of them are not very attractive but that can be explained by the clientèle. Hardly anyone seems to tip the girls except for a few regulars even though most of the girls are willing to put on quite a show if you give them some attention.

Even though this place has always been kind of shady, I used to enjoy it because of the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that the girls had some personality and uniqueness to them. I think with a few more new hires they might make a come back and attract better customers.

Well, they've added a few new girls who are attractive ! But that's all that's good that can be said about this very downscale place. Funny that it is downscale but perhaps the most expensive club in town. Women want a 20 or 40 $ drink...which is just a few ounces of soda and ice made up to look like alcohol.

Waitresses are pushy and some aren't honest. Not surprising....fits with the ethos of the place.

Physical plant has been slightly improved but still run down and kinda gives one the creeps. Amazing the owners don't fix this place up really nice and hire some pretty girls. As close as they are to the Hilton and downtown, they'd make a fortune.

Avoid this place like the plague! It had been shut down for a couple of weeks (am a bit light on the DC criminal code, so am sure for what - unless displaying fat, ugly women is a crime). Was hoping that management took the time for some self-reflection and improved the gals. No way! All three of these Latina gals was 20-30 pounds overweight with all-too-apparent signs of their childbearing. Only good thing that could be said about them is that they had the boobs that God gave the, though all six of the puppies were dog ears.

Entire staff, less the manager/bartend was new, and amazingly, worse than before.

Final blow - all the music was in Spanish or 'afro.

Seeing as how the Royal Palace was the first strip club I ever went in, and that I've been in there a couple dozen times over the last 25 years, I have a fondness for this place. I was last there a year or so ago and found the experience to be average: average dancers, great views, and sometimes some very nice contact when tipping at the stage.

Although I had read the recent reviews, I was skeptical about the reports that dancers are now asking for $20 tips if they sit with you at a table. But it's true, unfortunately.

Friday afternoon there were a half-dozen dancers when I stopped by, and the quality did seem better than normal. One -- Honey -- was very friendly on the stage; I tipped her four times and each time she seemed very pleased; she told me she'd come sit with me after her stage time was over. She finished on stage, made the rounds, and came and sat and explained that I would need to tip her if she sat next to me. "No problem -- I got a pocket-full of ones," I said. She said that men tip 20s, and that there was an ATM in the back. I expected her to say something to get me to bite -- for instance, something like "tip me 20s, and we'll have a really good time." But she didn't offer any encouragement. I said no 20s, and she up and left.

Wow. Tipping twenties? I agree with the previous posters: save your bucks for the $1 tips at the stage.
