I recently saw a 20/20 (or some other shock-journalism TV show) in which an investigative journalist blew the lid off a scam in which contractors in New Orleans take people's money for the first visit of work on a gutted house, then disappear and change their phone numbers. The TV crew caught up with the owner of one of the scamming companies (who had claimed to be out of town) at Visions, and then they and about thirty home-owners who had been cheated confronted him. It was cool to see the Visions front marquee and parking lot on TV but the contractor was obviously a sleaze ball.
