Shockingly good time. But not cheap. Heard VA clubs were terrible. Saw the Paper Moon in Winston-Salem, NC and had some fun there. Some of the girls rotate between the different locations from what I heard in NC. Decided to check out the Springfield location because I was familiar with the brand.

This club is very different from its sister spot. The one in W-S was still being renovated when I ran through, so maybe this one is closer to the usual look and feel. The other descriptions make the place sound a little close quarters and it is. If you're claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. Walls have mirrors so it seems larger than it is. The building looks pretty big from the outside, but I think the club is only half of it on the interior. Bouncers don't look terribly approachable and kind of like mob movie extras in the all black suits, but they're actually pretty cool. Door girl was super friendly, cute brunette with short hair. This close to DC you never really know what you're going to get but the staff was first rate. Men's room is kind of in a weird spot with the door off the lobby, but at least there's one that's clean enough to use unlike dozens of other places I can think of. So once you get through the lobby you can walk in one of two directions to get into the main club. It doesn't really matter which was you walk but the buffet and bar are directly to your right.

The main floor, and your impression of it, probably depends on the night. If on a weekend (when I was there) it's going to seem a little chaotic. Got there a little after midnight. Every table was full. When you're standing near the entrance looking out you're going to see (left to right) couches lining the left wall running over toward the raised DJ booth in the left rear corner, couches running all along the back wall, the second stage in the middle of the floor maybe a foot off the ground about ten feet out from the wall, chairs and tables all around it with not easy way to get to it for tipping, another mass of tables and chairs between the smaller stage and the main stage (which is oval shaped and not that big itself) on the other side of the club to the right. The VIP dance area is behind the main stage wall, which does not have mirrors and is curved. Two doorways back there on the either side of the stage, and the bar curves around on the right of the second entrance heading back towards the entrance. The club design is set up like an ultra lounge so there are a lot of dramatic angles and curves, recessed lighting and moving spotlights. Pole at the main stage runs up pretty high, 10-15 feet. The one at the second stage is interesting because it is free standing and maybe about 6 feet high.

Blue was the dominant color in the lighting and layout, but with the spotlights there was a lot going on with the show. It was easy to tell they'd put some thought and dollars into the club. DJ moved the action along well and it was easy to tell who was who and where from song to song. The ebb and flow of the movement around the club (dancers and patrons) kind of reminded me of Show Palace in Houston, but that is much better club and no comparison with the top shelf talent there. This place definitely had a party atmosphere, though. Since the place was packed a decent seat was not easy to come by. There was an empty couch on the left wall, so I took a seat there to get my bearings. Wound up staring at the back of some hombres who didn't like the prospect of sitting in the empty chairs at their table. That wasn't going to do, so I stood up and started scanning for empty seats by guys who looked like they had no friends. Wasn't looking to make friends, but was looking for a seat. Saw one by a scruffy guy with two beer bottles and looking like he just escaped from mom's basement so I took a shot. Asked if the seat was taken and he screams back "YES!". Brought that on myself so I kept moving...

About 2 feet from the nutjob (who kept glancing over, they should up his meds) was a three seater couch with a blonde smoking by herself. Pointed to one to her right. The loud guy about a foot away was apparently sitting there (drunk, but harmless). So I pointed to the seat at her left currently playing host to the saucer-sized ash tray. I had a seat! Much better viewpoint and the second stage was directly in front of me, but with ridiculous amounts of foot traffic going by. The main stage is about four feet off the ground, so it's visible from almost anywhere except behind the wall of hombres. The only seats I thought were better were the ones right off the satellite stage since you're really right on top of the action. You're also going to be paying out on tips continuously up there so the couches aren't a bad option just to feel the place out. No hustle from wait staff for drinks but plenty of waitresses milling around if you needed one. So what about the dances? Lots of energy on stage, some are always better than others but none of the girls dogged it. Lots of girls to choose from, none lower than a 6. Most 7's and up. One I'd rate a 9 (curvy black dancer in oversized white shirt and white hat, best stage presence) and a 10 (slender brunette with star pasties up top and dark shredded stockings on a great set of legs).

Since the VIP sets start at $100 and over the brunette was the only one I'd considered to that point. She was a little too far away after her turn on stage (over by the bar) and then I noticed a slender blonde really putting in some work on the second stage. Maybe an 8 on looks, but everything she had going for her was a blur. I could drop her name, but you'll know her when you see her if you read on...

Walked up to tip, got a nice show at the stage with her on all fours and then she pops straight up and arches back. This is obviously a no touch place at the stage, so when her face hit below the belt I took a step back and waited for a reaction. Got a smile. Very pretty face. Blue eyes. Meg Ryan hair. Asked her to look for me after her dance, and about a minute later I had her skirt pulled down around my neck while getting the run down on $60 2fers in the VIP. Timing is everything. $20 will get you two low contact dances on the main floor but you're going to want to opt for VIP during a special. Not a lot of guys back there unless on special. Booths have small walls between them but the rows face each other. VMWV. Whoa. Had enough fun during the 2fer I was considering buying another set, but she declared I wouldn't make it 30 mins (not true) and I was really thinking OTC by then anyway. Plus she'd stuck her tongue down the throat of another dancer on the way back there and was the girl of the night either way. Happy ending? Well...we decide to go out front for a drink and she says she needs to check in with someone. Thought it was the guy at the desk in back. I look down to make sure I hadn't left anything in the booth, and look up to see her beating the shit out of some guy. The skinny dancer equivalent, at least. Arms, chest and back. No face. WTF?

Yes, she still got her $15 shot. Clearly she'd had plenty already. My kamikaze cost me $15. In Springfield, VA? $15? At least it was strong. Yes, the blonde was batshit crazy. Was there an explanation for the spontaneous beatdown? Isn't there always? But she loved me, as she told me several times before realizing that she needed to make more money. Good thing she wasn't wearing lipstick. Nice place.

Lots of girls here. Most were average, there were a couple that were 8's or so. I stopped by for a couple beers over lunch. Heinies were $7, the cover, which included a lunch buffet was $7. There wasn't much pressure to tip the stage dancers, but there was plenty of pressure to have a lady join you at a table and then have a drink bought for her.

It is nice to have a new joint nearby in NOVA, I'll likely be back.

Stopped by on a Thursday night for the first time. I think it was the second week since they have been open. They had a porn celebrity that night. The entrance fee is $12 with included a decent buffet. The drink prices seem to be on par with the other clubs. There were two stages, and a VIP lap dance area behind the main stage. The service was excellent, my drink was never empty. All of the dancers are driven up from Richmond, I guess they didn’t have any local dancers yet. Most of the dancers were in the 7-9 range. The dance prices are as follows, a table dance is $20 with little contact, a 10 minute VIP dance is $100 with lots of contact and a 15 VIP dance is $150. The dancers keep all their clothes on with performing a dance. They do have 2 for 1 specials were the 10 minute VIP dance is $60 and 2 table dances for $20. I would probably visit again.

The club's appearance is slightly seedy. It is very dark inside, even by strip club standards. The chairs are decent, but make sitting with the dancers difficult. There are three very small stages, each having a pole and not much room in which the dancers can maneuver. The general layout lacks organization, and navigating the general floor can be difficult in advanced stages of intoxication.

The dancer selection is completely hit or miss. I've been to the club multiple times, and some nights have a handful of attractive girls to choose from, while others look like the fired Hooter's waitress convention showed up. You will never show up to this place and find wall-to-wall hot chicks. It's just not that type of club.

There are two types of private dance available. One is in the large, mostly open back room, where the girls keep their tops on. I consider these worthless, and can't comment other than that. The second type is in the VIP area, and basically works out to $100 per 10 minutes. For the location of the club and the quality of the dancer pool, I really think this is overpriced. I've gotten some very good and some just o.k. dances in the VIP area. It varies from dancer to dancer. Dances vary from what I would consider a basic lap dance to intense grinding with some things that probably shouldn't happen in a strip club.

Over all, this is a club to go to if you don't have anything better to do. I occasionally work in the general area, and it's a decent place to go if I don't have anything else to do. I wouldn't go here expecting the ultimate strip club experience. It's not going to happen.


Went to the Paper Moon this past Tuesday night around 9pm. Parking is not a problem, Cover was $12. Domestic beer was $7 a bottle. They do have liquor but I didn’t get any. There’s a free buffet. Rice, veggies, ravioli in meat sauce, some kind of asian beef dish. Food is not very good. They usually have features with porn stars during the weekend nights. They're open from 8pm to 3am every night now (open at noon on Fridays), though they may close at 2am if not too many customers. They have to stop serving alcohol at 2am.

Place was not crowded. It was easy to find a seat and move around. There are 2 small stages, barely larger than a dining room table. My biggest complaint is that the stages are very close to the ground, maybe a foot high, so that unless you’re sitting at the tables up close, you can’t see the dancer during their “floor” routine.

There’s a professional DJ who tried to make the place upbeat and they keep it as a clubby atmosphere. Club has been renovated since it was Dauphines and looks very nice and clean. It’s a bit smaller, because they now have the private dance room.

Table dances are $20. Private dances are $100 for 10 min, $150 for 15 min, and $250 for 30 min. About a dozen girls working that night. It’s pasties and thongs for stage dances and they put on extra panties for the table dances. Contact was pretty good considering but varies quite a bit. They have 2 for 1 table dances every hour or so and the private dances are $60 for 2 songs during this time. Did not get any private dances.

Most of the dancers are pretty good looking (only 2 or 3 I would rate less than 7 out of 10). The better lookers seems to be girls coming up from Richmond, where the Moon 2 main clubs are. Will probably stop once the club can hire more locals.


Arrived at club around 9:00, cover charge $15 on weekends. Remodeled nicely, far better than previous club. Stages (2) are very small, had 3 different dancers complain they couldn't do much. Pole on smaller back stage (center of 4'x4' square, no pole on front stage. Girls, about 20 were a good mix of 6s - 9s. Decent contact on $20 lap dances, with a VIP room in back. Did not venture back, but was very busy with prices starting at $100. Drinks on the expensive side, $8 for beer $12+ for mixed. All-in-all nice club, lots of girls, decent contact (exceptional for Virginia), will return.
