Well this def isn't a great traditional strip club. All of the girls are in bikini's and never go topless. I still like this club because its a pretty great place to grab a beer and watch some pretty girls gyrate.

Beers were between $2-5. $2 for PBR and 5 for everything else. I think the very weird thing about this club is that Ames is a very small university town where everyone knows everyone. So its a bit akward to go in and be anonymous.

Anyways, midwest girls are usually very attractive, and the girls at this club lived up to expectations. No lap dance room. It is expected to drop a dollar every once in a while by the girls.

Stopped in on a whim. Had not been to the location since it was EJ's. Had three very new dancers practicing pole tricks when I arrived. Very slow 'cause it was early evening. Whatched for a bit then asked for a private from a dancer named Taylor. Young small frame, great ass. Kind of a school girl thing going on. Dances were good, but not the best. She said she has not been doing it long. Wonder how she will be after another few months.

This is pretty much an average club, hence the "5" rating. The friendliness and low cost are above average. The contact is about average. The energy level, so far as I can tell, is a little below average. The very limited hours are a negative - it's open only three days a week - Thursday Friday Saturday - and only from 7 pm to 2 am. The "Bikini Bar" factor (meaning no bare tits, of course) is a definite negative, but that's the way it is in prudish Ames Iowa. Certainly not the fault of Management. The lap dances are decent, but nothing to get excited about. Physically, the place is pretty minimal. I don't go to strip bars for decor, and if I did, I would have to stay away from this.

Most of the girls who dance at the Campustown "Dangerous Curves" also dance at the Downtown location. They pretty much do the same thing here as they do downtown, with the big difference being that downtown is a definite cut above, decor-wise.



This place has changed A LITTLE BIT since my last review. I am sad that nobody else has seen fit to review it for several months because we TUSCLers deserve multiple viewpoints.

It is a a bikini bar so you never see tits or pussy. Sometimes girls will wear a little dress or a little jacket over their bikini and then strip down to their bikini (WOW!) Mostly they just walk on and off stage in their bikini. Most girls wear a g-string or thong under their bikini, but I'm not sure why. Modesty?

The layout, dress code, touching policies, VIP, are all the same as in my last three posts so I won't repeat them. Just scroll down.

All the girls are cute and friendly, but in varying degrees. There is quite a bit of turnover, but the following girls have each been working there for several months now:
Shy - Roxy - Serena - Misti - Harmony
All girls will sit on your lap at the bar if you ask. They will give you a lap dance at the table for $5 if you ask. It does not last for a full song. Most important, perhaps, every girl who dances on stage will slide down on your lap and grind without any preconditions. They are hoping for a tip of course, and deserve one, but it is NOT a precondition (if it were, it wouldn't be a tip, right?)

My favorite dancer is Misti. Above-average breasts, and way-above-average personality. I highly recommend Misti but unfortunately she doesn't work every night. Until recently she always worked Thursdays, but she called in absent this last Thursday (August 7) and so I missed her. Hope to see her there again next Thursday.


It's been three months since my last review so I guess its ok to do another one now. Especially since I bring some good news for y'all.

One reminder before proceeding: as I have said before, this is NOT a strip club - it is a bikini bar. The girls seldom take off any clothing while they are on stage. The rare exception would be a blouse with a bra underneath, or an outer skirt skirt with panties and thong (double-bottoms, I call em) underneath. So nothing special would be revealed by the removal. Most of the girls do their entire set in the same clothing they wear while sitting at the bar visiting with customers.

In recent weeks, I haven't paid any cover charges. I think they collect a $3 cover only when(IF) it gets busy, and their sign outside says "no cover before 8 pm." A beer is $1.50 from 5 to 7, and then it goes up to $3. Same price for draft or bottle. Mixed drinks are $4 to $6 depending on ingredients.

After an EXTREMELY happy experience here on June 12, I decided to avoid ALL porn, all SC visits, and even all logging on to TUSCL for one full week. Why? Partly for relief (I was on sensory overload when I left), but mainly because I wanted to savor the experience fully -- after being made so happy by one particular, I wanted to reflect on it fully over the period of a few days, without my memory being affected by erotic stimulation. After one week, I was anxious to go back, and again was extremely pleased with the experience. And back a second night in a row on June 20. Even more pleased.

In general this is a very low-mileage club. The girls vary in their attractiveness. Both Roxy and Harmony are very pretty, and Roxy has a perfect pair of jugs. But as near as I can tell they are both Duds in the Erotic department. Natalie is a DOLL - sweet personality and a gorgeous body. This place has A LOT of turnover. New girls show up constantly. Some last only a few days -- in one case last week, only ONE day. Last night (June 20) I had an unforgettable experience with a girl who had not worked there very long. We did some stuff in the private area that other girls had previously told me were ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE because of the cameras, and Management's strict policies: "Oh I would get fired for sure if I did THAT". Well, this girl saw things quite differently. It was a VHM experience, fer shur. When I asked her if she was worried about getting fired if she got caught, she just laughed. She said, "they won't fire me - they need even more girls." Very refreshing attitude. We did only one dance, but I paid her for two (ie, $20 tip), and asked her to come sit with me after she had settled up with the manager. There weren't very many customers in the club, and she told me that even if there had been, she wasn't in the mood to troll for dances (LUCKY ME). We talked for about a half hour, about everything under the sun, and then I left, a very happy camper. I think I am in love.

Would I go back? You betcha. But YMMV. The normal behavior of girls in this club is quite different from what I experienced last night.

St Paddies Day and not a whole lot going on in Ames Iowa. Dangerous Curves is even slower than usual, especially for a "Holiday" but remembering it is also a Monday, nothing out of the ordinary. This place is nothing special, for sure, since it is a bikini bar where the girls never take off their clothes. They will give a good lap dance at the stage, for a dollar or two. They can be pretty seductive too. Only trouble is, there doesn't seem to be any reason to buy the $20 VIP dances, cuz nothing at all happens in the VIP that doesn't happen at the stage. So why go to VIP? Well I didn't, but if you want a cute young girl all to yourself for 4 minutes, it might be worth the Twenty, who is to say?

The three girls tonight were Shy, Nicole, and Harmony. All are lovely slim and friendly. All will give you a nice lap dance. All are regular white 6-8 rated Girl-Next-Door types. Woops I guess Nicole isn't a Girl Next Door any more because she went out and got herself a $7,000 boob job. Wonder if it is worth it. Harmony is extremely pretty, and a little younger and skiinnier than the other two.

Usually there will be five or six girls at Dangerous Curves. The three that were there tonight were well above the average quality girl.

It's an average place, so I guess I'll give it an average score. If you want some excitement, try Des Moines. It is only 35 minutes to Outer Limits, which is Topless.

I've written some longer reviews than this one, but I had to tell you that the gradual decline of Dangerous Curves is still in operation. The crowds are pathetically small and (several of)the girls are pathetically large. Several fine young ladies learned the biz at this place, and then migrated to other strip clubs which still permit customers to have fun. The management of Dangerous Curves has so intimidated the girls that only naive newcomers (not people who read this List)could possibly have a good time. Dangerous Curves is pathetically poorer than any club in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, or Carroll. I stop by once in a while just to have a beer but I have completely given up on the girls except for G-rated stupid conversation. By the way, DC has a highly sophisticated closed circuit video camera system. They can see you when you are out on the sidewalk, when you're sipping a beer at the bar, and at least a half dozen other places including of course the VIP. They can't necessarily spot you putting your hand under a girl's thigh but if the MGR is watching the video when you do it, he might guess. And then you might get an unexpected visit from a bouncer. But it is highly unlikely the girl will let you put your hand under her thigh anyway: club rule says you may not touch the bikini bottom and the girls are so brainwashed they enforce the rule.

My visit last week was good but not as good as my last couple. I still ended up having a couple of great dances with a black dancer that made sure I left with a smile on my face. She also hinted that she might be willing to meet after closing time but I didn't check that out.

I would like to see a better variety of dancers but for Ames, Iowa it's not bad. For no further than it is to drive the half hour to Des Moines it might be worth the trip there is always more excitement at a couple of the clubs in Des Moines.

THIS IS MY FIRST REVIEW. I paid a brief visit to dangerous curves. This is a bikini bar so the girls are not nude. Sarah was the best by far. (only three girls working)she is 19 and said she was a student. Paid the 20$ for a private lap dance. It was only for one song she did a nice job plenty of touching over the clothes, but have had better in other clubs.

The best thing to do is stay at the stage and get the 1-2$ mini dance just as good but shorter and less $$

Boy, this is a strange place. Not awful, but pretty different. Visited on a week night around 9 pm.

Looks like a neighborhood tavern; pool table, smoky, furniture in sad condition, bathroom that makes you think your hands would be cleaner if you didn't touch the faucet of the sink.

Girls were so-so; many not very attractive, a couple of cuties; range from 4 to 7. Not much pressure. Only one girl came up to me for a while.

Had a couple of VIP dances. No nudity, no hands under the clothes, and the top on the girl I was with was a multi-layer, double-reinforced rig. You could touch her top, but you didn't feel anything. However, grindage was good. After one dance with me sitting on the couch, she invited me to lie down. Then I felt like I was back in high school, dry-humping on the girlfriend's living room floor. I stopped before achieving happiness, because I didn't want to return to my hotel room with a big stain. (The restrooms are not only filthy but have no walls around the commode, so it's not a comfortable place to add a raincoat.)

If you're in Ames, and you're a dedicated strip clubber, check it out. If there's a good game on the tube, stay in your hotel.

Dangerous Curves has taken a turn for the better! I am still suspicious of the place but I must tell you I have had three happy endings in the VIP lately so I have doubled my rating from last summer -- from 3 to 6. Also there is no question that some cute young chicks are currently working there. My experience last night and tonight pretty well matches what Pleasuregiveher said in his review.

Don't expect to see ever any girl take off any clothes here -- it's not a strip bar, it's a bikini bar, and nothing ever comes off. But some of the girls really try to please, and among other things they will - while dancing on stage - come down, climb on your lap, grind on your cock, and let you cuddle their tits (through the bra, not inside the bra) for a measly dollar tip. I always give them more than that, cuz I think their stage-side lapdances are just about the best you could get anywhere.

Here's a rundown on four cute chicks currently working. They are all young (20 to 24), small-to-medium natural breasts and slim trim bodies. They are:
Sarah (also known as Sarah Tonen -- get it? Serotonin misspelled -- she works in a nursing home.) and comes here to augment her income. Fun to talk to, easy to look at.
Summer -- ISU college student, brunette, very perky and super friendly. In my opinion, she is gorgeous. She also likes to kiss on the lips which is almost unheard of. So if you don't like to be kissed on the lips by a gorgeous 20 yo, avoid Summer. She was pretty darn friendly in the VIP -- made me feel a lot younger than I am. Raven -- She just started last Saturday - February 24. She had on the skimpiest outfit I've ever seen. And the bottom was single, not double layer of fabric, which I really appreciate. Sat on my lap and flirted a little at the bar and then gave me a great grind at the stage. I am really sorry I did not have time for a VIP with her. I would like to have checked out her attitude on that skimpy single bottom. She seemed like she might be a little open minded, but I have no proof.
Chelsea -- she has jet black hair and does not seem to smile very much. Nice figure, but I can't really comment on her personality or lapdancing ability.

All in all, Dangerous Curves seems like a little more fun place to hang out than it was last summer and fall. It's still too quiet IMHO but quiet isn't all bad. The really good news is that they have recently taken on some friendly, slim, attractive girls. Draft beer is $3, and a $3 cover charge kicks in at 7 pm, which is when the dancing usually starts. If you want to get a VIP the minimum cost per dance is $20 -- and they have to give $5 to the bartender. If you like your VIP experience I hope you'll give her a $5 or $10 tip. I stopped in last night to check the place out again. It had been quite a while. There were 7 dancers working. 1 - 3, 3 - 5's, 2 - 6's and 1 - 7.

There seemed to be a lot of locals that the dancers were spending their time with. I was finally approached by a petite short haired blond with A cups. She came up and was hanging on me and kinda got my attention. I asked what was up with the private dances. She said $20 per song, "the kitty is mine but the rest is yours". I decided to give it a shot. I had seen her in the private area for multiple songs I figured she might be worth it.

She directed me to her favorite couch and we started the dance. My hands could roam anywhere - almost. A few trips inside the bra top was not too discouraged. There was a lot of grindage. I opted for one more song and she asked me to lay down on the couch. She rode me for the whole song and made sure that I went away with a smile on my face.

My little blond made the trip worth while but most everything else in the club would not be worth a trip. There is much better to be had in Des Moines but if you are stuck in Ames give it a shot.

Since my previous review whined about the hand-written hostile poster taped to the foyer wall, I will compliment Dangerous Curves for finally removing it. Probably removed because the bitch that wrote it quit.

Even so I am dropping my rating yet again, to a 3, because the strict rules are being enforced more strictly than ever. They now have a closed-circuit TV to spy on the VIP area and the girls are more skittish than ever. Yesterday I had a VIP from Cali, a pretty but slightly overweight college girl. It was as much fun as sipping from a bucket of warm spit. Complete waste of time and money.

Drive to Des Moines or Fort Dodge

Although I have already written five reviews on Dangerous Curves, here I go again because (a) it's hard for me to find excuses to get out of Ames to check out other places, and (b) the latest review was February and I know all you PLs of Central Iowa are dying for an update. A few preliminary facts -- girls normally start showing up soon after 5 pm, a $3 cover charge goes into effect at 7 pm, the private dances are $20, of which the girl must give $5 to MANAGEMENT, and the main action (such as it is) seems to be between 10 pm and 1 am. Remember of course that it isn't really a STRIP bar, it is a bikini bar. All the girls wear double bottoms and some wear double tops.
Reluctantly I am dropping my rating from the 4 that I gave it last November, down to a 3 -- I feel it has gone downhill a bit. A few positive things to be said -- it is laidback, the beer is cheap (two full glasses for $3 until 7 pm), the girls are fairly friendly, and never overweight, the girls will play pool with you, they will sit on your lap sometimes at the bar and always at the stage, it is clean and moderately elegant (much nicer than its sister bikinibar in campustown) Alan - the owner - is a very nice guy, you are never hassled for drinks (either for yourself or the girls) or to buy private dances, and you never see silicone-enhanced tits. BUT ON THE DOWNSIDE -- the place just isn't a lot of fun to be in. With the exception of Renee, who I willingly give $5s and $10s (unsolicited) jes cuz she's so sweet sexy & friendly, the girls seem oblivious to the sensual aspect of their jobs. "No you can't touch there, oh you have to buy a private dance to do THAT, etc." As a further example of this negativity, there is a handwritten note in the foyer, written by one of the dancers, in both English and Spanish, telling us all the things that she doesn't like about us PLs and all the things we are not allowed to do or ask for. There is not a hint of irony, humor, or customer-interest in that note. Since that note was posted in the foyer, I feel that perhaps the other girls have read and re-read it (like I have) and have really taken it to heart. I read something similar to this note once in the entryway to Mons Venus in Tampa. Two big differences: (1) it was printed by THE MANAGEMENT as a regular commercial sign, and (2) you quickly learned a lot of the rules and regulations could be overlooked once cash was forthcoming. I wish it was that way at Dangerous Curves -- it used to be, but it isn't anymore. If the Ames LE reads this post, they will be happy. I'm pretty sure the unfavorable conditions are mainly to accomodate (and protect against) the Ames LE force.
Bottom line -- if you like to see bare titties, like to see girls take off some or all of their clothes, or like to get some sensuous body contact, skip Dangerous Curves. Drive to either Fort Dodge or Des Moines. I hope to give you an update on the Des Moines scene before long.
If cheap drinks, low-key atmosphere, and moderately attractive moderately friendly girls will satisfy your needs, then Dangerous Curves is your kinda place. Enjoy life and take care of yourself.

Went to club last nite, it was actually quite a bit better than last time I was there, It is still just a bikini bar which I don't think will ever change, but the girls were friendly. I went in back with one girl and had a good time even though the clothes stayed on.
Some of the "regulars" were a littel differnet but they were not anoying.


i went there last friday and there were five dances. most of them were not bad. they were pretty young and at least two of them were really hot. there was no cover and beer is two bucks. each time i paid two bucks for dancing with dances. but i didnt ask for extra service so i don't know the price.

A agree with not being very impressed with this club. For my money, I would much rather make the trip to Des Moines and visit one of the GREAT Clubs there. All in all, I guess not bad for Ames, Iowa but not worth a long trip.

I see in their ads that they are opening a new club in campus town. I am interested is seeing how that goes.

Went to Dangerous Curves one nite, I am afraid I was not very impressed. The girls were so, so and didn't seem very interested in talking to people. I sat at the bar for 1/2 hr and not a single one said a word to me.
It is to bad that the city is so hard on these clubs. The ones Ames used to have not that long ago were a lot of fun.

How can it be that I am the only guy that will write a review of this place. Found many comments about Dangerous Curves on a different strip club list, but that one uses only anonymous postings, no registrations of reviewers. I found out from talking to one of the girls, that it is common on that site for dancers themselves to write phony reviews from the male customer viewpoint. Score one for TUSCL.

I am forced to lower my rating for this place. It is seldom very busy, the girls are never "knock-outs" and while a few extras are available, it is very very hard to get them and if recent two week period is an indication, it is getting more difficult all the time.

Because it is a bikini bar you never get to see the goodies. That could be tolerated if the girls would -- AS THEY USED TO -- allow you to play around a little bit with the forbidden fruit.

I know why they are so strict at Dangerous Curves, and I sympathize with the Management, who must really drill into the girls how they must be have. The reason is simple -- Ames Officialdom does not like Strip Clubs in general or this Strip Club in particular. The Management has applied for permission to open another bikini bar in Ames, this one to be on Welch Avenue in Campustown. That application stirred up enough of a fuss that the City Manager and the City Attorney are trying to figure out how to write a city ordinance that will make it even more difficult to have fun in this place than it is now.

You need to drive 40 minutes south (northern Des Moines) or 70 minutes north (Fort Dodge) to get to a SC that is much fun. Too bad.

Hate to be the only one reviewing this place. Where are the other Central Iowa PERVS???? After 10 minutes there tonight (around 9 pm Saturday) I was ready to write a very negative review with a "2" rating (lack of girls, lack of energy) Then about 10 after 9 the place came to life. Five girls, all having a good time and putting on a good show. True, it is a bikini bar, and you will never see any bare titts, let alone pusssy, here. But the girls really try to please. They will all let you fondle their tits thru their bra at the stage - da's nice. All have nice tits, all are 100% natural. And I can vouch that at least one is willing to relax and let you get your finger wet. Also, if you pick the right one and are persuasive, tit sucking in the VIP is possible. One downside - they all wear double bottoms and I have yet to see a girl flash her pussy on stage. I think they could get fired for that. But it's still a fun place.

The girls do not beg for private dances, but they are all willing and able to do a good job. They are all willing to just sit and talk for a few minutes if they think there is hope for some dollars. (Just remember they are there because they want the dollars not because they love to visit with you.)

There is a lot of turnover of entertainers at this bar. I can hardly believe it. I stop by frequently so I keep track of all girls. The girls tonight were Dixie from Alabama, DJ from Indiana, Andy a single mom in late 20s, Candy who is really stacked, only 19, and going to beauty school, and Kitty who is a senior in comuter engineering at the local university. All are very pleasant. Dixie is a little spitfire.

One girl I can highly recommend, who was not working tonight: Rene. If you stop by Dangerous Curves, first thing to do is ask the bartender if Rene is here. If not, then get acquainted with whoever is available.

Remember it is a bikini bar. But it's the only place to see even that much female flesh between Des Moines and Fort Dodge, so make the best of it! There is one girl working here that deserves a 10. She's gorgeous and extremely sensuous. I am afraid to name her for fear of getting her in trouble, but I can tell you this -- she is a TEN in my book.

Tremendous dancer turnover. Amazing how many girls come & go in this place. Some work a day, a week, a month. A couple of have been here off and on for years. Here are a few I really like: Rene (extremely slim, great personality) Savannah (nice sexy attitude, a wannabe movie star, but the fake orgasms get old after while), Bailey (gorgeous, slim, good sense of humor) and Jordan (incredible natural tits, a short saucy haircut, and great outgoing personality. One of my most favorite dancers - Shaunna - has left. Too bad.

Two-way contact is not only allowed it is encouraged. You can feel all over their tits butt, etc., but not in the warm damp spot between the legs. Some of the girls grind really nice in the private area. Most girls grind a little bit for the on-stage dollar lap dances. Don't think extras are available, but recent visit indicates they are not quite as strict as before, so I'm tentatively raising my score from 5 to 8. If I get my hand brushed away from critical areas, I'll have to come back and lower it in a couple or three weeks. Sure wish somebody else in Central Iowa would review this place.


At least Ames has an erotic bar of sorts. Nothing special here. I was hoping that some other reviewer might have had more positive experience since my last review was posted. But no such luck.

Since it is an average bar, not great, and not bad, I am giving it a five. I would like to give it a higher score. I like the owner/bartender/bouncer - Jeremy - and I like the girls too. They are mostly college girls in their early twenties. Some names: Shawna, Tamara, Savannah, Vanessa, Rene, Rachel, Kitty, and Lindsay. All are young, attractive, no silicone. Tit size varies from medium-small to luscious. For luscious tits I recommend Shawna. Also she seems to be the most interesting one personality-wise. She has a mordant sense of humor, which although not especially erotic, is definitely entertaining and stimulatious.

I loved the bar the way it was run by the previous management, because -- although yes it is a bikini bar -- I found that some of the girls would let me cop some cheap feels during the dollar dances at stage side. I liked that a lot, and often would tip them $5 or $10 extra (yeah I know - BIG SPENDER - HA) for 30 seconds of special erotic affection. However, I haven't found any girl so far who will accomodate this perverted desire of mine.

Still, this is by far the best (only) "strip club" in Ames Iowa -- once you get used to the idea that no stripping ever occurs in this bikini bar.

If you drive a few miles to Ankeny or Des Moines or Fort Dodge you have a lot more erotic exhibitionism available.

One of the girls told me I could touch anywhere on her body as long as I did not go under the cloth. Experience has not supported that claim.

Bikini bars are, by their nature, a bit depressing. You see these beautiful curves, and yet they are for the most part hidden by cloth. I notice many of the girls wear double bottoms too. Hate that!

Loosen up, DC girls! Live it up a little and make some extra tips.


The dancers are not Cambridge Rejects. That is a funny joke. I don't think Cambridge ever "rejected" any of their dancers. A lot of dancers rejected Cambridge though. Anyway, it's been closed for over a year.

Several of the new dancers are college students who answered a newspaper ad when the new management decided to open the club earlier in May. Several are experienced. One I will comment on: Shawna. She is one of the brightest and most articulate "exotic dancers" I have met. An ISU dropout who wants to pay off her college loans, and buy a nice car.

Another great dancer is Tamara, who is studying nursing. Can't say enough nice about Tamara. She is petite, superfriendly, has great long soft black hair, and is learning quickly.

The girls will visit with you, drink with you, give little dollar dances, and let you fondle them discreetly. VIP dances are $20 and YMMV.

Yes it is in the same location as the old EJ's Legacy, and operates much the same. One difference - the bar area is elevated now, so seats at the bar are more appealing. As before the fire, no bare breasts are shown at any time -- in other words, it's a bikini bar. But the girls are friendly, and I happen to believe that some cash and friendly conversation will lead to dancer generosity in the VIP room.

Because Ames law is pretty strict everybody has to be superdiscreet and no girl is going to be very generous unless you have build some trust. I have no doubt the Chief of Police will test this place with undercover agents hoping to score an arrest.

The girls are attractive (six to eight, with maybe a five and never a ten). They are also friendly and relaxed -- no bitchy attitudes or "wanna dance" behavior. The rules say, the hands cannot go under the cloth either in the open area or the VIP. Whether the girls will bend those rules, I have no first-hand knowledge to share - but I certainly hope so.

Yes it is a real club located at the old EJ's. Apparentaly the old management sold it and it had its grand opening last week. Havent been there myself though hope to maker a stop in tomorrow night and will post a review then. Have heard a rumor that the dancers are "Cambridge rejects" but never went to Cambridge and was made by a probably jealous dancer, so we shall see.

Is this club real? I am in Ames once in a while and it sounds like the address of the old EJ's Legacy. EJ's had a fire upstairs and last I heard is not scheduled to re-open.
